Aspen Kiosks Offer Attractive Option to
Harried Travelers Tired of Long Lines
.
VSis stylish computer-access kiosks help improve guest service and
increase guest satisfaction by offering quick access to
boarding-pass printing, Internet use
SUNNYVALE, CALIF. FEBRUARY 15, 2007 Hoteliers can now provide their patrons with a compact, stylish computer-access kiosk that can streamline guest service by freeing up employees to help guests who require more personal services.

Vertical Systems Inc. (VSi), a global leader in providing guest-services technology and solutions to the lodging industry, is offering Aspen, a sleek, high-style kiosk unit that can be placed in hotel lobbies, corridors, conference rooms or other public spaces. Aspen kiosks can house either VSis popular BoardEZ airline boarding-pass printing systems, its business-oriented Internet-access PCs or hotels own proprietary computer equipment with high quality printer for guest use.

VSis attractive Aspen is a compact 66 inches high, 25 inches wide and 24 inches deep kiosk, and comes in gray/black color. VSi also provides custom-built Aspen kiosks and graphics to hotels specifications. Aspen Kiosk comes with a wired or wireless network connection, giving hoteliers total flexibility to place the kiosk anywhere convenient in the public space without the worry of pulling network cables.

Our Aspen kiosks have gotten excellent reviews by the hotels where we have them placed, said Shaukat Anjarwala, Marketing Manager for Sunnyvale, Calif.-based VSi. Their main use presently is to house BoardEZ, our airline boarding-pass printer hardware, but they are also appropriate for use in offering guests Internet access for sending and receiving e-mail, sending and receiving business documents, and just general Internet use that has become so common among todays business travelers.

Najam Khan, General Manager of the Long Beach (Calif.) Marriott, a 311-room upscale business property, says his hotels Aspen kiosk offers the BoardEZ service and that guests are extremely pleased with having an easily accessible station where they can retrieve their boarding pass.

Weve had the kiosk for some time, and we feel that it adds greatly to our ability to deliver excellent guest service, Khan said. In addition, VSi has been great about reacting quickly and helping to solve any issues that weve had.

The Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, a 500-room convention/business hotel linked to the RCA Domehome of the NFL Champion Indianapolis Coltsinstalled its Aspen kiosk near the reception desk as part of a station that includes two of the hotels automated express check-in/-out units. The kiosk houses the Hyatt FastBoard boarding-pass unit.

The guests love being able to check out of the hotel and go to the Aspen kiosk and print out their boarding pass, said Richard Walter, the hotels Director of Rooms. Being able to get their boarding pass in a timely, hassle-free way is important in todays era of stressful air travel. The Aspen kiosk gives us a means by which to offer guests a way to get what they need without having to wait in line. And our employees like having the Aspen kiosk because it enables them to provide extended personal service to other guests who may need it more.

Walter said the Aspen kiosk was installed in October, adding that in the month of January, the kiosk and the FastBoard unit drew nearly 900 users.

Once we see lines getting longer waiting to use the Aspen kiosk and boarding-pass unit, we may well add another elsewhere in the hotel, Walter said.
