Prevention Efforts Award Presented by Utah Pollution Prevention
Association And Utah Department of Environmental Quality

.

Page, Ariz. October 3, 2006 Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas, an ARAMARK Harrison Lodging managed property, today announced it has received a prestigious Pollution Prevention Award from the Utah Pollution Prevention Association (P2) and the Utah Department of Environmental Quality.

This is especially important to us since this award recognizes organizations and companies in Utah that are making outstanding efforts in programming and training to prevent pollution and improve environmental quality, said Bubba Ketchersid, resident district manager, north Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas operations.  Protecting and preserving our environment is an extremely important part of our companys commitment to our guests, employees and neighbors; and we look forward to our continued efforts to protect our priceless natural resources for generations to come.

In 2005, Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas recycled 917,509 pounds of aluminum and cardboard waste. The property has been able to successfully implement a recycling program that includes paper, glass, plastic and metals as well as minimizing packaging wherever possible.  Recycling initiatives include utilizing returnable delivery boxes for future deliveries and maximizing the recycled content of all paper products on property.

In addition to our recycling initiatives, we have also incorporated employee and management training programs to educate our team members on the importance of environmental leadership and best management practices, said Ketchersid.

Representatives from Lake Powell Resorts & Marinas will be accepting the award at the annual P2 Award Luncheon on Oct. 4, 2006.  Recipients of the Pollution Prevention Award were selected for implementing programs that demonstrate clear environmental benefits; activities that demonstrate true pollution prevention, and for utilizing sound technology that is both innovative and cost effective.
