Hyatt Regency in Downtown Los Angeles and Reflags
it as the Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel

.

LOS ANGELES, CA, May 20, 2005 - Rim Hospitality, a Modesto, California based hotel management and development company announced that it has taken over management of the 485-room Hyatt Regency in downtown Los Angeles and will reflag it as the Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown Hotel as of today.

The hotel, according to Mark Burden, CEO of Rim, will undergo extensive remodeling over the next 24 months beginning immediately with the installation of the Sheraton Sweet Sleeper bed.  Thereafter, an additional $10 million will be spent on guest rooms, meeting rooms and public spaces.

This move follows Rims assumption of the management of the 489-room Sheraton in Anaheim, California in February. Sheraton is one of the upscale brands of the Starwood Corporation group of hotels. Burden noted, We are delighted to have the opportunity to manage these two fine Southern California hotels under the

A variety of circumstances meant that the transition from Hyatt to Sheraton had to be accomplished quickly and smoothly.  Jay Barter, Rims Chief Operating Officer explained that, Our team has successfully dealt with a change in franchise, a new labor contract and at the same time satisfying the varied needs of a new owner, and this had to be done in record time. Barter gave credit for this success to Rims special transition team, headed by Dan Evans.

Rim Hospitality, a 21-year-old firm, which manages branded, and boutique hotels, according to Burden, is a fast growing company, concentrating on third party opportunities in management and development anywhere in the U.S.  The Los Angeles Sheraton is the companys 28th hotel. Its properties include close to 5,000 rooms.

Patrick Birmingham, the new General Manager of the Sheraton Los Angeles Downtown, stated My colleagues at Rim and I look forward to working to bring this hotel to its full potential and delighting our guests with the Sheraton difference.

The new owner of the hotel is a wholly owned subsidiary of Jamison Properties, Inc.  Jamison is a privately held real estate investment and management firm based in the Los Angeles area. Jamison is one of the three top landlords of commercial office buildings in Southern California.

The hotel is connected to Macys Plaza, which hosts many fine shops and dining outlets. It is close to several downtown attractions including Staples Center, the popular sports and entertainment center which is home to the LA Lakers, LA Kings and LA Clippers and also hosts top touring music concerts and boxing events.

Rim Hospitality manages full service, select service, resort and boutique properties affiliated with national brands including Sheraton, Courtyard, Fairfield Inn & Suites, and Residence Inn by Marriott, Radisson, Holiday Inn, Country Inns & Suites By Carlson, Best Western, as well as luxury boutique hotels.
