Heather Nelson Appointed Director of Sales for WORLDHOTELS, Midwest Region

NEW YORK � (May 10, 2005) �WORLDHOTELS, the Americas has appointed Heather Nelson to the position of director of sales for the Midwest region of the U.S. 

Nelson, who is located in the company�s Chicago office, is responsible for increasing customer share and revenue by selling member hotels to key corporate, group and travel management segments.  She reports directly to Shirley Perezic, senior director of sales, WORLDHOTELS, the Americas.

�The Midwest region is increasingly more important to WORLDHOTLELS as we add more quality properties to our member portfolio, and focus on gaining a greater share of the region�s in- and out-bound travel market,� said Perezic.  �We are impressed with both the level of experience and types of accomplishments Heather has achieved in her career, and look forward to our organization benefiting from her established sales skills.�

Most recently, Nelson served as director of sales and marketing at The Talbott Hotel in Chicago, a WORLDHOTEL member property.  While in this role in 2004, Nelson was successful in growing REVPAR by $8 year over year, increasing group business by 8%, and implementing a consortia rate that resulted in a 4% increase in consortia-related business.

Nelson�s job experience also includes several sales management positions at IndeCorp Corporation, where she was primarily responsible for consortia contracting and securing preferred partners for three independent brands, and at the Omni Ambassador Hotel East in Chicago, in which she managed all corporate sales activities for the 285-room hotel. 

In addition to earning several awards for sales and creative marketing throughout her career, Nelson earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in Journalism from The Ohio State University.
