Intrawest Plans 222-suite Condominium-hotel,
The Westin Trillium House, at Blue Mountain,
Ontario
TOWN OF THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, ON, Dec. 5, 2003 - Intrawest announced today it has entered into a letter of intent with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. to operate a new 222-suite luxury condominium-hotel under the Westin flag. The Westin Trillium House, located at the heart of the newly developed Village at Blue Mountain, will be the largest luxury property in the region. The property is slated to open its doors in summer 2005.

According to Lorne Bassel, executive vice president of Intrawest's Resort Development Group, having an internationally recognized hotel partner such as Westin will be significant for Blue Mountain. "Typically, the arrival of an internationally recognized brand hotel signifies true destination status for a resort. Westin is renowned for service excellence, and we will now be able to offer a guest experience at Blue Mountain that is equal to our other world-class resorts."

"We are thrilled to be working with

House condominium-hotel at Intrawest's Village
at Blue Mountain in Ontario, Canada.
Intrawest on the development of The Westin Trillium House project," said Sue Brush, senior vice president, Westin, North America. "We have had great success with Intrawest at our other Westin properties in Whistler and Tremblant and we are certain that this new property, which will feature our Heavenly Beds, Heavenly Baths and other signature amenities, will exceed expectations for visitors to the region."

The design for The Westin Trillium House was inspired by the grand Georgian Bay lakeside lodges of the past. The condominium-hotel will be situated at the base of the Blue Mountain ski hills and will border the three-acre (one hectare) millpond to give it a unique ski-in, ski-out, lakeside position. In addition to 10,000 square feet of meeting space, the hotel will enjoy convenient access to an adjoining indoor/outdoor aquatic center. The aquatic center, featuring waterfalls, slides and pools will be open to the public and provide a year-round draw for the new property.

This highly anticipated property represents the latest real estate opportunity in the Village at Blue for potential homeowners. Each of the self-contained suites, including a prestigious 1,482 square-foot Presidential Suite, is available for sale by reservation only. According to Craig Watters, Intrawest's vice president of development, Northeast Region, advance interest in the suites has been extremely high. "At this time, everything in the Village is completely sold out, making The Westin Trillium House the only inventory available for occupancy in the Village until 2005. Response from the public to date, and in particular our existing homeowners, has been extremely enthusiastic."

The Westin Trillium House will join three existing condominium-hotel properties totaling 415 suites. The Village at Blue is a 32-acre (13-hectare), multi million-dollar development at Blue Mountain, Ontario's preeminent ski resort and favorite four-season destination. The Village currently features a wide variety of shopping and dining alternatives, a vibrant street life and exciting events year round. The Village at Blue Mountain is scheduled for completion in 2010.
