Denver, CO - March 12, 2002 Alpha Inn Management (Alpha), which operates
the new Staybridge Suites® by Holiday Inn® Denver - Cherry Creek
location, today announced it has added a no charge - long distance service
to the existing communications offerings at the hotel. Alpha is focused
on providing hotel guests superior communications and technology amenities,
including complimentary personal phone lines, voice mail, and 24 hour computer,
fax, print and copy services in the business center, offering a more convenient
and cost effective experience.
Alpha Inn Management CEO, Adam Dubroff says, The business model the
hotel industry has held onto regarding long distance phone charges is out
of date.
Todays hotel guests typically carry cell phones or use calling cards
and are willing to dial access numbers and PIN numbers to avoid pricey,
hotel long distance surcharges. Hotel guests are rarely happy when
reviewing long distance phone charges at checkout.
Dubroff adds, Alpha has been developing the -no charge- long distance
phone service solution for hotels for over a year, and has been testing
it at the Staybridge Suites® hotel in Denver Cherry Creek for the
past several weeks. Guests have had overwhelmingly positive responses
to this new service.
According to Michael Cahill, president of Hospitality Real Estate Counselors,
Inc., The ability of an operator to provide hotel guests complimentary
long distance phone service is a significant competitive marketing advantage.
As phone revenue and profit has been typically declining in most hotels,
providing it as a complimentary amenity has the potential to differentiate
Staybridge in the highly competitive Denver marketplace.
Brenda Kuhn, a long term guest at the Staybridge Suites® says, Usually
when I travel, I use my cell phone or calling card for long distance calls
because hotel long distance charges are so ridiculous. Staybridge
Suites® offering free long distance services will make it a lot easier
and less expensive to stay in touch with my family while Im away.

When IBM purchased Lotus Development Corp. in June of
