February 8, 2002 - The Borgata, a joint venture development of Boyd Gaming Corporation and MGM MIRAGE , today announced the appointment of three executives who will be among the senior executives at the resort:
Commenting on the recent appointments, Robert L. Boughner, Borgata Chief Executive Officer said, "These hospitality and gaming executives bring a wealth of experience in their respective fields coupled with very stable and long term employment relationships. As we move closer to our summer 2003 opening, we will continue to add qualified and respected talent to our organization. We are particularly gratified by the high level of interest in positions with the Borgata, and we are pleased we have been successful in attracting such talented and experienced peopled who share our vision for success." PETER FINAMORE Peter Finamore will serve as Vice President of Hospitality of the Borgata. He will oversee the development and operation of the Borgata hotel and related amenities, including guest reception, valet parking, premium guest services, and concierge, wardrobe, housekeeping, maintenance and grounds, and hotel sales. Mr. Finamore will also oversee the development of the Borgata Spa. Prior to joining the Borgata, Mr. Finamore enjoyed a 14-year association with the prestigious Peninsula Group of hotels. During his tenure with the Peninsula Group, Mr. Finamore was consecutively Resident Manager of both The Peninsula Manila and The Peninsula Hong Kong, and General Manager of The Kowloon Hotel, prior to moving to Beijing to serve as General Manager of the Palace Hotel for five years. He recently served as the General Manager of The Peninsula Chicago, the latest hotel in the Peninsula Group portfolio, where he oversaw the successful June 2001 opening of the critically acclaimed hotel. Prior to joining the Peninsula Group, he spent 10 years with Hilton
International where he held positions in properties in Canada, the United
States and the United Kingdom. A native of Canada, Mr. Finamore holds a
Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University, Montreal.
Mr. Tiffany previously worked for 15 years with the celebrated and respected restaurateur Drew Nieporent of the Myriad Restaurant Group. Myriad developed such notable restaurants as Tribeca Grill and Nobu Next Door in New York City, Nobu London, and Rubicon in San Francisco. Mr. Tiffany also helped develop restaurant programs for the first W Hotel in New York City and the W Hotels in Atlanta, San Francisco and Seattle. Most recently, Mr. Tiffany helped launch Nobu South Beach and Sirena in Miami Beach, Florida. Mr. Tiffany earned his Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration from Cornell University. He studied classical French cooking at the Cordon Bleu in Paris, France, and is a frequent lecturer and speaker on the food and beverage industry. PAUL F. TJOUMAKARIS Paul Tjoumakaris is Vice President of Slot Operations of the Borgata. Mr. Tjoumakaris is a recognized industry professional who pioneered the development and implementation of bill changers, bar coded coupon acceptors, and other forms of slot machine technology, including the one-sided coin drop, auxiliary hopper storage compartments, and automatic paperless jackpot/hopper fill transactions. Prior to joining the Borgata, Mr. Tjoumakaris served as Senior Vice President of Slot Operations for Caesar's Atlantic City, where he was employed from 1979 until the fall of 2001. He was responsible for slot operations at the venerable property which offered approximately 3800 slot machines. During his 23-year tenure at Caesar's, Mr. Tjoumakaris oversaw development of innovative marketing programs, facility renovations and expansions. In addition, he oversaw the opening of the slot operation at Dover Downs Race Track in Dover, Delaware, and has consulted on casino development projects in Canada, Europe, Africa, and Indiana. |
