ATLANTIC CITY, N.J., Dec. 10, 2001 - The Borgata, a joint venture development
of Boyd Gaming Corporation (NYSE: BYD) and MGM MIRAGE (NYSE: MGG), today
announced the appointment of five executives who will be among the senior
executives at the resort:
Mr. Sullivan briefly served in California state government when he was appointed by Governor Deukmejian as Assistant Director of the California Department of Commerce. Mr. Sullivan received his Master in Business Administration degree and his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. Auggie Cipollini will serve as Vice President of Finance. His responsibilities will include casino and hotel accounting, financial reporting, cashiering, planning and analysis, materials management and collections. Mr. Cipollini has extensive experience in the casino industry. He began his career with Harrah's Atlantic City in 1984 and has held various financial accounting, financial reporting and casino accounting management positions. He has been a member of the opening team for two casinos in Mississippi in the capacity of Director of Finance and has served as a Director of Development since joining the Borgata in January 2000. Auggie, a Certified Public Accountant holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Widener University. He has served on the Board of Directors of the American Diabetes Association and has been an adjunct instructor of accounting at Atlantic Cape Community College in Atlantic City, NJ. He serves as a Director of the Atlantic-Cape May County Chapter of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. Cassie Fireman will serve as Vice President of Talent. Her areas of responsibility will include recruiting, training and developing Borgata employees. She began her hospitality career in Atlantic City at Resorts International, followed by a move to Las Vegas, Nevada to serve as Employee Relations Manager for the then 10,000 employee MGM Grand Hotel and Casino. Ms. Fireman opened other gaming properties in Arizona and Mississippi prior to joining Boyd Gaming Corporation in early 2000 where she serves as Director of Human Resources for three of the company's casino hotels. Ms. Fireman is a graduate of Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations and earned her Bachelor of Science degree with a concentration in organizational behavior. David Farlin will serve as Vice President of Information Technology. His responsibilities include system hardware, network infrastructure, and telecommunications. Mr. Farlin will oversee systems selection, technical staff recruitment, systems implementation and ongoing operations of The Borgata IT department. Mr. Farlin has over 15 years in the hospitality and gaming industry. His experience has been both as a vendor and client. His responsibilities have included product development and project management and he has been responsible for more than 12 casino hotel openings and system conversions. Prior to joining the Borgata, he served five years as Director of Corporate Customer Services for the technology group at Harrah's Entertainment. He also served five years as Director of Information Technology for Carnival's Crystal Palace Hotel and Casino in Nassau, Bahamas. Most recently he worked on the opening of the Grand Californian Hotel and the California Adventure theme park for Disneyland Resort. Joe Corbo will serve as Vice President and General Counsel. Mr. Corbo holds a bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Wake Forrest University, a Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University School of Law. Following law school, Mr. Corbo served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable David Eynon, Superior Court of New Jersey. Upon completion of his Clerkship in 1987, Mr. Corbo joined the law firm of Cooper, Perskie, April, Niedelman, Wagenheim and Levenson as an associate attorney. In 1990, Mr. Corbo joined Resorts International where he served as Associate Counsel for approximately four years, then serving as Associate General Counsel at Harrah's Atlantic City for approximately three years. Prior to joining the legal department of Park Place Entertainment in May 2000, he served as Vice President and General Counsel for the Venetian in Las Vegas and was extensively involved in the planning and operation of the 3,000 room resort. Mr. Corbo is admitted to practice law in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Nevada and is a member of the American, New Jersey State and Atlantic County Bar Associations. He is a current member and has served as a trustee of The Casino Law Section of the New Jersey Bar Association. |
