Dallas, TX / Melbourne, Australia (July 6, 2001) - Dwight Hendrickson,
President and Chief Executive Officer of Unirez, Inc., announced today
that Unirez has finalized a multi-year agreement with Melbourne based eCommerce
Consultants (Aust.), Pty. Ltd. to represent Unirez in Australia, New Zealand
and the South Pacific. Under the terms of the agreement, eCommerce will
market Unirez's reservation system, as well as support the clients in that
region.
"We are delighted to have developed a strategic relationship with eCommerce,
an organization poised to provide the perfect combination of technical
expertise and service to the hospitality industry in the South Pacific
region. Our technology has been readily accepted throughout the world and
the ASP model has been recognized to be the most revolutionary concept
to impact the industry for years. Using the Internet to deliver our technology
to the user, it is the first true solution that not only increases the
efficiency at the hotel, but lowers distribution costs, especially for
the international sector." Hendrickson added, "eCommerce brings a global
perspective to doing business which is critical to today's hotelier. We
look forward to great success together."
Gary Marshall, President and founding principal of eCommerce agreed.
After having reviewed in some detail the various hospitality reservation
and distribution systems available around the world, it became apparent
that Unirez is by far and away the best potential solution for the Pacific
marketplace, with a comprehensive and flexible inventory management system,
tied to critical distribution through all the major Global Distribution
Systems (GDS) plus major travel portals, Expedia, Travelweb and Travelocity.
It is clear that what the industry needs is an inexpensive and effective
distribution system without expensive marketing levies that are becoming
less effective and increasingly meaningless in the changing distribution
environment brought about by the Internet.
Unirez offers a unique and innovative turnkey solution to the local
and international hospitality industry, for inventory and reservation management
with multi-channel distribution capability, Marshall said. As it is ASP
based, there is no software to purchase, no big hardware investment necessary
and no expensive maintenance contracts, just a pay as you go net transaction
fee, which is significantly less than most other systems. No booking, no
cost!
Marshall continued, It is now possible for properties to have a single
image inventory, accessible and bookable from their own web site, all the
GDS, major travel portals, and used for internal reservation processes.
I am not aware of any other software suite, or ASP model, available to
the hospitality industry that does all this so cost effectively. It is
certainly providing clients with a vital edge
With
offices in Dallas, Rome, and now Melbourne, Unirez is the fastest growing
reservation services provider in the world representing over 1800 independent
hotels, resorts and chains worldwide. Using the ASP model, Unirez has developed
the next generation reservation system technology that gives the individual
hotel an unprecedented level of control and functionality. Unirez provides
seamless connectivity to all GDS, an Internet booking engine where a hotel
can link its proprietary web site allowing the guest to make real-time
reservations, connectivity to the world's largest travel portals including
Travelocity, Expedia and TravelWeb, complete CRO software, as well a private
label voice services. Through the Internet, hotels enter and maintain all
their information including descriptive, rates, and availability. The system
allows for each distribution channel to be managed independently, and changes
flow automatically to the selected channel or channels. With the
Unirez system, the hotel can have access to all distribution channels yet
only have to manage one database of information.
eCommerce Consultants delivers and oversees the implementation of strategies
to tourism and hospitality clients, looking to achieve a presence, incremental
revenue and increased efficiencies through the use of backend solutions,
coupled with the Internet, and traditional GDS distribution channels, for
B2B2C, B2C and B2B applications.
