WASHINGTON, D.C., April 27, 2001 -- National
Trust Historic Hotels of
America, a collection of more than 170 historically significant hotels, retained The Hyland Group to generate group leads for member hotels. This is an extension of our national sales effort, said Michael Di Rienzo, director of sales and advertising for Historic Hotels of America. The Hyland Group sales representatives will help Historic Hotels build brand awareness within the meeting industry community. The selection of The Hyland Group resulted from a national search that was initiated at the recommendation of the HHA sales committee. The Hyland Group works with Di Rienzo to provide member hotels with group leads. Meeting planners can work directly with Di Rienzo or they can contact The Hyland Group. Historic Hotels will continue to exhibit at industry trade shows and The Hyland Group will also represent HHA at trade shows. This partnership with Historic Hotels has been enthusiastically received by our sales staff, said Peter Hyland, president of The Hyland Group. We now have a more complete portfolio, giving planners more options from The Hyland Group. National Trust Historic Hotels of America is a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. National Trust Historic Hotels of America has identified more than 170 quality hotels that have faithfully maintained their historic architecture and ambience. To be selected for this prestigious program, a hotel must be at least 50 years old, listed or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places or recognized locally as having historic significance. Founded in 1985, the Hyland Group is a national sales firm retained by independent hotels, resorts, conference centers and convention destinations throughout North America and the Caribbean.
