MIAMI, FL (April 27, 2001)) � Bass Hotels &
Resorts (BHR) [LON:BAS, NYSE:BAS (ADR)] today announced that it has signed
a long-term agreement to manage the new 780-room Holiday Inn Anhembi (Sao
Paulo, Brazil). Scheduled to open in the Fall of 2003, it will be
one of the largest Holiday Inn hotels in the world. The project�s
developer will be Construtora Sao Jose, one of Brazil�s most respected
real estate development companies.
Located in the northern part of Sao Paulo, Brazil,
in Parque Anhembi, Latin America�s largest meetings and convention facility,
the property will be contiguous to the 581,000 square ft. Anhembi Exhibition
Center.
The new hotel, along with
a new 387,000 square ft. convention center, and an additional 3,000 parking
spaces, are part of a recent program by the municipality, owners of Parque
Anhembi, to privatize various components of the facility.
The full-service Holiday Inn Anhembi will include
two restaurants, food court, lobby bar, fitness center with swimming pool,
business center, in-room technology, a theater/ nightclub, and a retail
sector in the hotel.
�This property will be the hub of Holiday Inn
development in the Southern cone,� says Alvaro Diago, Area President Latin
America, Bass Hotels & Resorts. �It is a major step towards our
company�s goal of doubling the number of Holiday Inn properties in the
region within the next five years, from our current 24 to upwards of 50
throughout the whole of Latin America.�
When concluded, Parque Anhembi will be one of
the world�s premier meeting and convention facilities, including the new
hotel, the new 387,000 square ft. Anhembi Convention Center, and additional
parking, to compliment the existing 581,000 square ft. Anhembi Exhibition
Center, an existing 3,400 person theater facility, 10,000 parking spaces,
and the 60,000 person Sao Paulo Carnival Stadium.

BASS NAMES THOMAS COSSUTO SENIOR VICE
PRESIDENT OF FINANCE
ATLANTA (April 24, 2001) � Bass Hotels & Resorts has
recently named Thomas Cossuto its Senior Vice President of Finance for
the Americas region.
In his new role, Mr. Cossuto is responsible for managing
and developing all finance operations for Bass Hotels & Resorts in
the Americas. He reports directly to Andrew Macfarlane, Chief Financial
Officer for Bass Hotels & Resorts, and is a member of the company�s
Americas Management Committee.
Before joining Bass Hotels & Resorts, Mr. Cossuto
served as Chief Financial Officer for OneCoast Network Corporation, the
nation�s largest manufacturer representative agency in the gift and home/garden
accessories industries. Prior to his time at OneCoast Network Corporation,
Mr. Cossuto was the Chief Financial Officer of Edwards Fine Foods, a frozen
desserts manufacturer also based in Atlanta. As CFO of these high-growth
companies, Mr. Cossuto led the pre-IPO readiness efforts and several strategic,
operational and financial initiatives to dramatically improve profit margins
and investor value. Previously, Mr. Cossuto spent 14 years with PepsiCo
Inc. holding several senior finance positions primarily in the company�s
restaurant division.
Mr. Cossuto is a Certified Public Accountant and has a
Bachelor of Science degree from Boston College. He is based at Bass Hotels
