  Tom Roelens Joins The Regent Jakarta, a Four Seasons Hotel as Executive Assistant Manager
October 2000 - Tom Roelens, a Belgian national is joining The Regent Jakarta, a Four Seasons Hotel, in November as Executive Assistant Manager. 

He comes to The Regent Jakarta from the famous Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa in Bali, One of the Leading Hotels of the World owned and managed by the Brunei Investment Agency, where he held the same position and where he was employed for over three years.

Graduated from the Bruges Hotel Management School in Belgium, he obtained a Postgraduate degree in Business Communication and Management and attended the Professional Development Programme at Cornell University in the United States.
 

He began his career in fine dining Michelin-starred restaurants in France and Belgium and received several awards and medals as �Meilleur Ouvrier Cadet de Belgique�, �Meilleur Sommelier de Belgique� and �Junior Maitre d�Hotel de Belgique� before starting his military service at the Headquarters �Reine Elisabeth� of the Belgian Landforces.

He entered the SAS Royal Hotel, now

rebranded as a Radisson SAS Hotel, in Brussels in 1992 in junior food & beverage positions both front and back of house and moved from there to the Brussels Hilton International, where he was soon promoted to Assistant Convention & Events Manager.

He continued his career in banqueting at the Dubai Inter.Continental Hotel and later became a member of the new management team at the Nusa Dua Beach Hotel & Spa after the grand re-opening and renovation of the resort.

Roelens speaks English, French, Flemish (Dutch) and German and is a member of the Skal Club and the Australasian Incentive Association.
