Scandic Hotels AB Signs ASP Agreement With in2 for Datawarehousing and Business Intelligence
for 155 Hotels
December 4, 2000 - Scandic Hotels AB and in2 AS has signed an agreement to implement a Datawarehousing/Business Intelligence system. The solution is based on an ASP agreement, which means that both hard- and software is hosted by in2 and is accessible to the Scandic hotel users via a web-based user interface.

The in2 datawarehousing concept, in2information, uses state-of the-art components such as Powermart and Business Objects. On a daily basis, the system extracts and transforms transactions from the various transactional systems used within the group (Fidelio PMS, CIS, Back Office systems, etc.) and loads this information into a centrally stored datawarehouse. By doing this, all information is located and administrated from one single location and made available to all users through a common internet/intranet based information portal. The right information in right time to the right person has been the keywords for the solution which has been running as a pilot since summer.

Scandic is now rolling out in full scale and the first two Data Marts to be implemented are Revenue Management and CRM. Further on, they plan to also implement similar Data Marts within others business areas such as Financials and Sales & Marketing.

Scandic Hotels is the first hotel group in Scandinavia to take advantage of this technology and we are proud to be the supplier of this solution to the Scandic Group. Scandic has for many years been a technology innovator within the hospitality industry and with this solution they will be even more competitive, says Jappe Kjaer, Managing Director in in2.
