ATLANTA, May 30, 2000 - Atlanta-based
Jameson Inns, Inc. (Nasdaq: JAMS) was named as one of the best performing
companies in Georgia according to the May 21 Special Annual Report, �The
Georgia 100--Best of Business,� published by The Atlanta Journal and Constitution.
Based on 1999 figures, Jameson ranked as one of the 100 best performing
companies in Georgia weighing five variables: revenue, return on equity,
year - over - year revenue change, change in profit margin, and total return
on investment.
�I am pleased to report that 1999 was the most successful growth year in the Company�s history,� stated CEO, Tom Kitchin. �Our management team met the challenge of growing the Jameson Inn brand in a highly competitive marketplace and also successfully acquired a second brand, Signature Inns.� �1999 saw record funds from operations and dividends and the year 2000 promises to set a record also for opening new Jameson Inns,� continued Kitchin. �Jameson Inns now has locations in nine southeastern states and will pursue its contiguous state growth pattern as we expand into Florida, Kentucky, Louisiana and Virginia.
