PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (April 10, 2000) - Over 300
customers and technology partners of Newmarket International, Inc. met
last month at the first annual Delphi User's Conference at the Opryland
Hotel in Nashville. The conference took its name from Newmarket's
core property-level sales and catering program, but attendees, which
included users of Breeze and Delphi Multi-Property Edition, participated in a wide variety of educational seminars, presentations, and hands-on training on Newmarket's Web-enabled applications and services. Seminar topics included data warehousing, Web-based training and technical support, and Newmarket's business-to-business e-commerce solutions. The conference featured in-depth sessions on product usage, migrations, and reporting, and gave users a chance to network, collaborate on technology issues, and provide Newmarket with feedback for future product development. "We initiated the conference to give our worldwide customers the opportunity to learn specific features of our existing technologies, and to provide them with our e-commerce vision and an efficient path to integrating the Web into their sales strategies " said Newmarket President Steve Giblin. Giblin introduced MeetingBroker.com, a Web-based service that routes leads from electronic request for proposal (e-RFP) sites directly into Newmarket's sales automation systems for immediate and efficient lead processing and response. He outlined how MeetingBroker.com is the first step in creating technology that will eventually enable any sales or service personnel in any organization to book business to satisfy customer needs from anywhere in the world. Conference keynote speaker Doug Fox, a meeting industry analyst and publisher of the online newsletter EventWeb, amplified Giblin's message with a presentation on how the Web is transforming the way hotels do business, and the role that products such as MeetingBroker.com will play in shaping the flow of business-to-business e-commerce. For many attendees, participating in discussions with Newmarket on future product developments, and networking with other Delphi users was very beneficial. "The interaction between other users and Newmarket personnel was invaluable,"
said Rodd Herron, Vice President of Sales Development for Wyndham International.
"We thought the conference a great success and look forward to attending
in the future.
This conference renewed my interest in the technology side of my job, and reminded me of the fabulous tool we have in Delphi, said Jessica Brim, Conference Planning Manager at the Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center. Newmarket sent a positive message of its commitment to the user, said Beth Duane, Director of Sales and Marketing at the Statler Hotel at Cornell University. |
