OnSitePoP is fully compatible with any laptop or PC, eliminating the need to purchase a proprietary in-room access device. With this system, each guest can both send and receive their email, an option not usually available due to local ISP limitations.  OnSitePoP�s patent-pending technology uses existing dial-up modems as dedicated access points to the net.  Therefore, the hotel�s PBX is bypassed, preventing any trunk line congestion. Since OnSitePoP utilises existing and spare telephone wires, and no in-room equipment is required, deployment of the system is immediate.  OnSitePoP supports migration to ADSL broadband services for laptops equipped with ADSL modems.

A prestigious addition to exiting installations 

In addition to the Park Plaza chain, the Dan Hotel chain, which owns 1/3 of the luxury hotel rooms in Israel, chose GlobaLoop�s Internet access solutions.  OnSitePop is successfully installed in two sites, and will be installed in the world-renowned King David Hotel in Jerusalem in April.  The remaining hotels in the chain will roll out with OnSitePoP during 2000.  In the Dan Hotels, OnSitePoP is fully integrated with the hotel�s Property Management System (PMS).  Service is automatically enabled and disabled upon check-in and check out, and billing information is posted to the guest bill based on flexible billing criteria.  Furthermore, a per-guest opening page redirection feature provides the hotel with an opportunity for personalised e-commerce and advertising.
