Hostec 2000 Launched in UK to Serve the
Hospitality FoodService Industry
Includes Three-Day Educational Conference Program
and Technology Exhibition

Gaithersburg, MD and London, UKOctober 5, 1999 CynterShow UK today announced a groundbreaking new event to serve the technology sector in the hospitality, foodservice and catering industries in the UK.

Hostec 2000 will take place at the Wembley Conference & Exhibition Centre, London, from April 11th to 13th, 2000 and includes a major three-day educational conference program and exhibition.

Hostec 2000 is organised by CynterShow UK, whose owner, Rob Grimes, is also the co-founder and co-producer of FS/TEC, a highly successful technology conference and exhibition for the foodservice industry launched in the U.S. four years ago.  CynterShow UK is an affiliate of  the Gaithersburg, MD-based CynterCorp affiliated companies.

Initial founding corporate sponsors of Hostec 2000 include Micros Fidelio, NCR and Crown Systems.  The shows media partner is Caterer & Hotelkeeper, the market-leading hospitality and foodservice publication in the UK.

Hostec 2000 is designed to tackle the leading issues that matter most at the senior level, as well as showcase the latest technologies in the hospitality and foodservice industries, said Grimes.

He added, The industry has been calling for this type of event.  Technology is a vital component of these industries and continues to grow in importance. The UK hospitality and foodservice market, the fifth largest in the world, will greatly benefit from the show.

Christine Davidson, exhibition director stated, This is the first dedicated technology event in this important market. It was launched in response to a market need for a focused event not one that appears as a by-product of a more general show.  We found that companies were calling for an event that tackled their specific technology-related issues with the relevant people attending from the hospitality and foodservice market.

She added, The sponsors add significant weight, and this thirst for knowledge about issues and future trends will be reflected in the quality of speakers, delegates, exhibitors and attendees.

The educational conference at Hostec 2000 will address all the leading technology topics and trends in the industry including data warehousing, supply chain initiatives, the Internet, e-business, back office systems, enterprise resource planning and more.  Additionally, all key technology hardware and software will be shown by vendors such as call accounting systems, computer data centres, handhelds, in-room Internet, payment processing systems, property management systems, systems integrators, and much more.

Hostec 2000 has been designed to promote networking amongst board level buying groups who share similar challenges in the use of technology and automation in their businesses. Formal breakfast meetings, roundtable discussions at lunch and the Chairmans Dinner will all contribute to an event that will become central to the UK hospitality and foodservice sector.
