AmericInn International Corporate Properties Installing
the 3500 FDM System

BELTSVILLE, MDDecember 20, 1999MICROS Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:MCRS), the global leading provider of hospitality information technology, has been selected by AmericInn International, LLC to provide the MICROS 3500 Front Desk Management (FDM) System as its recommended property management system (PMS).  AmericInn, headquartered in Minneapolis, MN, has 170 limited service lodging properties throughout the country and plans to add 40 new properties each year.  AmericInn will install the 3500 FDM System in its corporately owned lodging properties and recommend that its franchisees purchase and install the product.

According to Greg R. Kirkpatrick, AmericInns Chief Financial Officer, the company selected the 3500 FDM System because it is a full-featured system that is affordable for AmericInn franchisees and it is flexible enough to support supplemental services.  Mr. Kirkpatrick stated,  MICROS was able to satisfy all our needs for a standard PMS and, as important, this solution will allow AmericInn hotels and motels to provide such value-added services as Internet reservations and connectivity to Global Distribution Systems while remaining competitively priced in the marketplace.

The MICROS 3500 FDM is a full-featured touchscreen property management system designed for smaller to mid-sized hotel operations that allows all front desk operations to be completed on one terminal. Designed to be simple and easy to use, the MICROS 3500 FDM automates all property management operations such as reservations, room assignments, guest check-in and checkout, credit card authorization and all other front desk activities.

It operates in a Microsoft Windows NT environment that allows operators to integrate other systems critical to running a property, such as Microsoft® Office, VingCard® electronic door lock system, and point-of-sale systems. It features an easy-to-read user display with touchscreen capabilities, large buttons, graphical user interface and on-line help that simplify employee training on the system.

Barry Lowenthal, Product Manager for the MICROS 3500 FDM, said, AmericInn needed a moderately priced full-service system that will streamline the flow of information between its hotels, headquarters, and guests.  Our proven track record, hospitality experience, and extensive service/support presence were other key factors in their decision to select MICROS, he said.
