AUSTIN, Texas - December 17, 1999 - Wayport, Inc. a leading
high-speed Internet solutions provider for hotels, airports and conference
centers, announced today formation of its national sales force team. According
to Marc Hughes, certified Master Hotel Supplier (MHS) and Vice President,
Sales, Wayport�s national sales force combines proven sales leadership
with extensive hospitality industry experience. Team members have previously
held prominent sales leadership positions in nationally recognized technology
and hospitality companies, such as Cendant, SpectraVision, MCI Worldcom
and Alcatel.
Wayport�s National Sales Force Members Chris Brown joins Wayport as a regional sales director for Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and Wyoming. Brown has sold solutions to both technology and hospitality companies and has experience in software development and hardware sales. John Clevenger has been named regional sales manager of Northern Califonia. He has previously worked with companies such as IDT�s Database Technologies, Sulcus Hospitality Technologies Corporation and Group1 Software. Clevenger has over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry with 12 years focused on technology. Richard Donnan joins Wayport with over 20 years of hospitality and technology sales and management experience. Based in Tampa, he has been named regional sales director for Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Merritt Doyle has previously worked with Alcatel USA, where he was national sales director for the competitive carrier market. Doyle has over 22 years of experience in the technology industry and has also worked with GTE Telnet and Sprint. He joins Wayport as regional sales director for Orange County, Imperial County and San Diego, California, as well as Arizona and Utah. Jay Durbin, regional sales director for North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan and Illinois, formerly worked with MCI Worldcom. Durbin�s background includes voice and data, hardware and service sales. Gerry Foley joins Wayport as regional sales representative for Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Foley brings 14 years of experience in field sales, sales management and business development, having worked in successful start-up and technology environments. Don Jensen, MHS, joins Wayport with over 14 years of technology-based sales experience in companies such as Skytel, Sprint Hospitality Group and Communications Express. Jensen has been named regional sales director at Wayport for Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Christopher Marshall joins Wayport as regional sales director for Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Indiana and Ohio. Marshall has previously worked with companies such as Sprint Hospitality Group, Teleconnect/Telecom*USA and First Digital Network and has over 13 years of experience in the hospitality industry. Rein Narma has been named regional sales director for Los Angeles and Riverside Counties, Central and Northern California and Nevada. Narma worked for Pacific Bell Network Integration and Internet prior to joining Wayport and has 27 years of experience in the technology sector. Jim Primovic, formerly with VingCard,
a provider of access technology for the hospitality industry, and Hyatt
Hotels, joins Wayport as regional sales representative for the Southeast.
Primovic brings with him over 15 years of sales experience in the hospitality
industry.
Brian Williams, MHS, joins Wayport as regional sales director for New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, Rhode Island, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Williams has worked for companies such as Cendant Corp. and VingCard and has over 11 years� experience in technology and hospitality. �Wayport�s staff has almost tripled since June,� said Hughes. �We�ve been able to attract an impressive group of people with strong technical and hospitality experience.
