San Francisco March 2006: Jean-François Gatti has been appointed
General Manager of the InterContinental Mark Hopkins. His hospitality career
with InterContinental began in 1971 with the Paris InterContinental Hotel
where he was a Trainee Assistant Manager. He remained in Paris for the
next 9 years and held various positions with increasing responsibilities,
and eventually moved into the role of Executive Assistant Manager with
a transfer to the InterContinental Portman Hotel in London. After spending
2 years there, Jean-François relocated to Athens, Greece as the
Resident Manager to open the Hotel Athenaeum InterContinental and was subsequently
promoted to the position of Manager for the Hotel Athenaeum.
