Mr. Ichigo Umehara, President of Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts said the parting is both amicable and by mutual consent. "Pan Pacific has managed the resort since 1984 and we are proud to have contributed to the growth of Pan Pacific Pangkor Island. IGB is now re-investing in its facilities and looking to attract new markets, and we feel that the time is right for us to part company and go forward to pursue other interests which will allow us to achieve our respective business goals," said Mr. Umehara. The current management team of the property will remain in place and both parties will work to ensure a smooth and seamless transition. Mr. Tan Boon Lee, CEO, Hotel Division of IGB added, "We want to place on record our appreciation of the hard work that Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts have put in all these years to make Pan Pacific Pangkor Island what it is today, especially in estab-lishing a culture among the resort's staff of personalised care for guests and each other."
