WASHINGTON, DC (May 20, 2003) - Barry J. Caplan, vice president of
sales for The Melrose Hotel Company announced today that Jodi Carpenter,
CMP, has joined The Melrose Hotel Washington, DC as the assistant director
of sales. Carpenter comes to The Melrose Hotel, Washington, DC from
The Westin Great Southern Hotel in Columbus, Ohio, a Melrose Hotel Company
property.

the team at The Melrose Hotel, Washington, DC," continued Caplan. "Through
her years with The Westin Great Southern, Jodi has proven that her experience
and ability will be a welcome addition and will serve only to enhance the

Prior to joining The Westin Great Southern Hotel in Columbus, Ohio in
2001 where she served as the director of business transient sales, Carpenter
was with The Wyndham Hotel's of Ohio where she served as regional association

Ohio's three Wyndham properties and later as sales manager for the Wyndham
Dublin Hotel.
The Melrose Hotel, Washington, DC is located on Pennsylvania Avenue
between historic Georgetown and the White House. The 240-room luxury hotel
has over 6,000 square feet of meeting space and houses the Library Bar
and the Landmark Restaurant. The Landmark Restaurant serving "Elegant Comfort
Cuisine" officially opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner in March 2003.
