Multi-million Pound Refurbishment |
LONDON (May 13, 2003) -- The Hilton London Green
Park in Mayfair is due to embark on a multi-million pound refurbishment
programme. The refit, which is due to be completed in the autumn of 2003,
will cover the hotel's 163 bedrooms, bathrooms and corridors.
London and Regional purchased the Hilton London Green Park from Green
Park Asset Management in May 1999, which coincided with Hilton's agreement
with London and Regional to lease the property. The refurbishment is funded
by London and Regional, with added investment from Hilton International.
"The hotel is a delightful townhouse style property with a lot of charm," says Oliver Stockland, General Manager of the hotel. "These developments will combine the traditional 18th Century exterior with modern minimalist interior to create a unique ambience in the heart of London." The Hilton London Green Park is a traditional hotel based in a series of 14 Georgian townhouses dating back to 1730. Located in the heart of Mayfair, the hotel is conveniently located to the West End, with theatres, shopping and the capital's many attractions within easy reach. Hilton UK & Ireland currently operate 77 hotels with over 15,000 bedrooms and 15,000 staff throughout the country. Hilton International (HI), an operating division of the UK based Hilton Group plc, owns the rights to the Hilton brand name throughout the world, with the exception of North America. HI operates over 400 hotels, with some 250 branded Hilton, over 150 under the mid-market Scandic brand plus 15 luxury Conrad hotels. Hilton International employs over 44,000 staff in over 70 countries. A global marketing alliance between Hilton International and the North American based Hilton Hotels Corporation (HHC), extends the number of hotels operated by both companies worldwide to over 2,400 - over 500 of which are branded Hilton. |
