The Teacher Excellence Award recognizes exceptional teachers who use the Lodging Management Program school-to-career curriculum in their classrooms.  Developed by the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute, the Lodging Management Program prepares high school students for the job market and higher education through coursework, work experience, credentials and scholarships.

The instructors honored with a Teacher Excellence Award were nominated by school-to-career directors in their states based on exceptional dedication to the Lodging Management Program.  The winners extended the program's curriculum by motivating their students to participate in internships and by using guest speakers, field trips and other opportunities within the industry to make the program even more successful.

Established in 1953 as a nonprofit educational foundation of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the Educational Institute is the premier source for quality hospitality education, training, and professional certification, serving the needs and advancing the excellence of hospitality schools and industries worldwide.
