ATLANTA (April 15, 2003) - Six Continents Hotels, Inc. is pleased to announce that Lynn Goodendorf, its vice president of data privacy and security at the company, has been elected to the Board of Trustees of Inner Harbour, a local non-profit organization.  The board appointment demonstrates the hotel company's continued commitment to community service.

"Inner Harbour's work with troubled children and their families is a truly worthwhile cause that has helped thousands of children with emotional and behavioral problems heal, recover and return to their communities better prepared to succeed and overcome life's challenges," said Lynn Goodendorf who will be working on the development committee to assist on the expansion of the organization, an area in critical need for growth.  "I am thrilled about this opportunity to do what I can to help our community."

"We are delighted to have Lynn on board," said Ron Scroggy, chief executive officer for Inner Harbour.  "She brings not only her technology expertise but her heart and strong compassion for the kids at Inner Harbour to the table."

Six Continents Hotels has a long-established tradition of supporting the communities in which it serves.  Whether that support takes the form of a corporate donation, a hotel-level fund-raiser, or the efforts of an individual Six Continents Hotels employee walking to support a local charity or cause, the company is committed to community involvement and improving the quality of life of those in need.  Six Continents Hotels' charitable giving is focused on initiatives and organizations providing support in five areas: children's needs, well-being, diversity, education and the environment.

Inner Harbour is a psychiatric treatment facility dedicated to helping troubled children and youth heal and build on their personal strengths, so they might return to the community better able to cope with life's challenges so they can achieve greater success at home, school and in the community. For over 40 years Inner Harbour has treated troubled young people from throughout and beyond the State of Georgia.  Currently, the organization serves children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 18, and 200 or more are served each day in residential services. An additional 100 children receive therapeutic support either through Inner Harbour's outpatient treatment center or community based Afterschool services.  These specialized Afterschool Programs provide critical supports to troubled young people during non-school hours as well as parenting supports to their families, at five sites in Fulton and a sixth in Douglas County, year-round.

Earlier this month, Inner Harbour hosted an open house at a new Children's Building, which recently completed construction as the first phase in a capital expansion plan.  Keynote speaker Jim Martin Commissioner for the Georgia Dept. of Human Resources raised the need to increase the number of residential treatment beds available to serve Georgia's troubled young people and emphasized the impact the business community can have in this area through funding, advocacy and volunteer leadership.

"Ms. Goodendorf and Six Continent's commitment to the Inner Harbour Board of Trustees and our Development effort is a wonderful example of how an Atlanta based business can really make a difference in the community and in the lives of some of Georgia's most vulnerable children. We all look forward to their close involvement in our development and expansion efforts." Patience Allan-Glick, Director of Development Inner Harbour plans additional expansion to meet the growing demand, however community support is needed.
