Product Categories into Five - Decor, Technology, Restaurant, Flavor and Essentials |
WHITE PLAINS, NY, May 17, 2002� To focus on the various vertical markets
served by the International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show® (IH/M&RS),
show organizers have announced plans to repackage the Show�s 12 existing
product categories into five broad markets -- Décor, Technology,
Restaurant, Flavor and Essentials -- for the November 2002 edition.
The five new markets will encompass the same depth and breadth of products and resources as the Show previously offered in 12 sections. Décor � The largest section of the IH/M&RS, this market will present a product range of furniture; floor coverings; wall covering; lighting; artwork; bathroom equipment & fixtures; wall décor; bedding; fabrics and drapery; decorative accessories; fitness, spa and sauna equipment; signage; general furnishings and design and design services. Technology � Offering the latest innovations in software; telecommunications; audio-visual; POS systems; hardware; energy management; CRM systems; PMS systems; televisions; video and entertainment; security and safety; locking & security systems; minibars; in-room and HVAC. Restaurant � Featuring products for both the front and back-of-the-house, including food service equipment & supplies; restaurant furnishings and design; table linens; tableware; uniforms and menus and restaurant consulting. Flavor � Devoted to food and beverage, this market will offer appetizers; baked goods; beer & ale; coffee/tea/espresso/cappuccino; dairy products; deli products; desserts; frozen foods; fruits and vegetables; gourmet foods; meat/poultry and fish; non-alcoholic beverages; pasta; prepared foods and wine & liquor. Essentials � Presenting the additional resources necessary for lodging and restaurant professionals, such as cleaning & maintenance products; guest amenities & services; finance and management services. �While the physical layout of the Show will not change, we feel that the new market names will provide attendees with a better illustration of what the Show has to offer,� said Christian Falkenberg, show manager. �Whether looking for one specific product or a broad range of products, the IH/M&RS offers a wide scope of resources to meet all the needs of hospitality professionals.� The 87th annual IH/M&RS will be held November 9-12, 2002, at New York City�s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. The Show will feature some 1,750 hospitality industry suppliers and will attract 48,000 trade attendees. The IH/M&RS is sponsored by the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association, the Hotel Association of New York City and the American Hotel & Lodging Association, and is managed by George Little Management, LLC (GLM). |
