Mr. Mendell is responsible for the efficient and overall operation of the 125 room, full-service hotel.  Other responsibilities include controlling costs in order to attain projected revenues and achieving budgeted profits.  Mr. Mendell reports to Mr. Mario Gomes, Director of Operations at Crown American Hotels. 

Mr. Mendell has gained extensive experience having worked in the hospitality industry for the past 28 years.  Most recently, he was the Food & Beverage Director at the company's Wyndham Garden Hotel in Durham, North Carolina.  In this position he was responsible for all food & beverage operations at the hotel including the supervision and productivity of all food & beverage employees.  Mr. Mendell has been with Crown American Hotels for the past two years.  Previously, he held various positions in the hospitality industry including Food & Beverage Director for the Holiday Inn State Capital in Raleigh, North Carolina, Restaurant Manager and Kitchen Manager for Darryl's Restaurant in Durham, North Carolina.

Mr. Mendell was named the 2001 Food & Beverage Director of the Year for Crown American Hotels.  Mr. Mendell is a Certified Food & Beverage Executive (CFBE) and is Serve-Safe Certified by the National Restaurant Association.  Mr. Mendell assumed his new position May 20, 2002.
