 Peter J. Regan Named VP Sales, MeriStar
Hotels & Resorts Doral Division
WASHINGTON, D.C., June 5, 2002--MeriStar Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: MMH), the nation�s largest independent hotel management company, today announced that it has promoted Peter J. Regan to vice president, sales, of the company�s Doral division.  

In his new position, Regan will be responsible for driving group and conference center business on a national basis for all of the Doral hotels, resorts, and conference centers.  He also will continue to oversee pre-opening group sales and marketing activities for the MeriStar-managed Doral Eaglewood Conference Resort & Spa in Itasca, Ill, which is scheduled to reopen in September following completion of a $72 million ground-up renovation.  During his tenure as director of sales, Regan played a key role in obtaining for the property certification by the International Association of Conference Centers (IACC), a move designed to help differentiate it from the competition and take advantage of the significantly renovated and upgraded conference facilities.  Only 33 resorts hold the designation nationwide.

�Peter�s nearly 20 years of experience with resorts and conference centers makes him the logical choice to lead the sales initiative at our Doral brand,� said Hoyt Bacon, chief marketing officer of MeriStar.  �His promotion reflects our confidence in his leadership abilities and his ability to creatively guide and expand our Doral brand�s marketing efforts nationwide.�

Before joining MeriStar, Regan served as director of sales and marketing for the Emory Conference Center Hotel/Emory Inn in Atlanta, Ga., where he increased occupancy by nine points within the first year of his arrival and earned for the property the managing company�s �Most Improved Sales Award.�  Previously, he was director of sales at Millennium Broadway/ Millennium Conference Center in New York City, vice president of sales at Stoweflake Mountain Resort and Spa in Stowe, Vt., and East Coast regional sales manager for Harrison Conference Centers.

Regan graduated in 1982 from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., with a bachelor�s degree in business administration and communications.  He is a board member of the International Association of Conference Centers.
