 Mark Thomson Appointed General Manager of the Reopened Embassy Suites Hotel® New York City
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., June 5, 2002 � Mark Thomson has been appointed general manager of the newly reopened Embassy Suites Hotel® New York City, located in Battery Park City.  Thomson will manage the daily operation of the 463-suite property, with primary responsibility for successfully repositioning the hotel in the marketplace following the events of September 11th.  
 
In addition to managing these responsibilities, he will continue to oversee the three Embassy Suite Hotels in New Jersey as vice president of Embassy Suites Hotels - Northeast Area, a position he has held since 1999.  He reports to David Greydanus, senior vice president � operations for Embassy Suites Hotels.

A 25-year hospitality veteran, Thomson began his career in 1982 with Holiday Corporation as general manager of the Holiday Inn® Metro Airport in

Detroit.  In 1984, he relocated to Philadelphia to serve in the same capacity at the Holiday Inn Center City.  From 1989 to 1992, he managed hotels in Fairfield, N.J. and Yonkers, N.Y. for Prime Hospitality and Universal Hotels, respectively.  Thomson joined Embassy Suites Hotels in 1992 and has served as general manager of Embassy Suites Hotels in Piscataway and Secaucus, N.J., and Altamonte Springs, Fla.  In 1999, in addition to his responsibilities as general manager of the Secaucus property, he was named vice president of the Northeast Area for Embassy Suites Hotels. 

A native of Denver, Colorado, Thomson attended the University of Colorado and the Williams F. Harrah Institute.
