Intervest Uncovers Profitable Rewards with
Ramesys' Data Consolidation Solutions
June 2002 - For Intervest Companies, the challenge of manually consolidating marketing and financial information from its nine hotels stretching across the states of Texas and Colorado was becoming an inefficient, time-consuming task. They needed a solution that would allow them to consolidate and mine data from all of their properties at the touch of a button.

Bradford Homesuites had the ImagInn property management solution from Ramesys installed at its nine properties. System-wide statistics and marketing data were not readily available while accounting tasks required to consolidate the information were inefficient. Individual hotels were keying information from ImagInn into an accounting system and then faxing information to the corporate headquarters in Dallas. 

Ramesys presented MPower, an automated data warehousing solution. MPower now allows executives at the Intervest corporate level to view daily both guest and financial statistics from all nine hotels. MPower operates by creating a data warehouse that monitors reservation, guest and financial activity. Customized reports, including forecasting, financial and guest patterns are then produced. 

All accounting functions are now handled at the corporate level, allowing front desk staff and managers to concentrate on providing excellent guest service. Local hotel staff is no longer required to spend time on data balancing and re-entry. At the corporate level, accounting information is gathered and prepared for each location as well as system-wide. 

Data is gathered nightly and housed in a database located at the corporate office. The data is then available via reports and can be exported into off the shelf tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Crystal Reports. MPower reports can also be emailed directly from the system. Marketing information is gathered on all guests and then applied to targeted marketing promotions based on stay criteria (length of stay and dollars spent).

The ability to identify corporations and travel agents based on room nights and revenue, system-wide, provides a more accurate picture of our client mix and preferences,� said Weldon Simons, Chief Financial Officer of Intervest Companies.

Feeling that not only the corporate office could benefit from the reports that were produced by MPower, Intervest made available this information to their nine properties via the Internet. After logging in with a username and password, individual properties can run reports of their choice. Similarly, field based sales staff and regional managers can access a range of customized reports via a web browser. This means that remote and traveling staff can get to the information they require, wherever they are.
