2002 Las Vegas International Hotel and Restaurant Show

LAS VEGAS -  April 6, 2002 - Hospitality suppliers from both the lodging and foodservice industries will be featured at the 23rd annual Las Vegas International Hotel & Restaurant Show (LVIHRS), June 19-20 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. According to show officials, this year¹s roster includes exhibitors representing numerous foreign countries, as well as, national, regional and local companies.

"We¹re pleased to announce that our exhibitors represent countries as far away as Italy as well as companies located right here in Las Vegas," said Felix Rappaport, president and COO of New York-New York Hotel & Casino
and chairman of the LVIHRS.

"Their innovative products and services represent every type of item needed in today¹s hospitality industry," said Rappaport. "From furniture, electronics and locking systems, to bed linens, food items and foodservice equipment, the LVIHRS offers the most comprehensive range of products for the hospitality professional."

Among the 50 new exhibitors already committed to this year¹s show are Universal Marketing from Italy, who will bring a contingent of 8-10 Italian suppliers of olive oil, cheeses, coffee, chocolate, tomato sauce and hotel and restaurant furniture; Design Imports International of Rhode Island, a national distributor of fine tableware; Restonic, a mattress company from Illinois; Multi Systems of Phoenix, a provider of technology solutions; Pompeii Furniture, an outdoor furniture manufacturer from Florida; Eagle Foodservice, a food distributor from Las Vegas and Panache Gourmet, a supplier of gourmet food products located in Seattle.

Among the hundreds of companies returning to the LVIHRS are Zenith, the national television company from Illinois; Selma¹s Cookies of Las Vegas; Gasser Chair of Ohio, a seating manufacturer; Dispenser Amenities of Canada, a bathroom amenity supplier; Procter & Gamble, the national cleaning supply company from Cincinnati; Heritage Frozen Foods Ltd. of Canada and Vingcard/Elsafe, a locking and safe manufacturer from Dallas.

The LVIHRS is open to all hospitality industry professionals. Registration is available at www.LVIHRS.com or by calling 800-272-SHOW. Advance tickets to the Epicurean Affair, being held at the Caesars Palace pool complex on June 19 and open to the public, are available for $100 per person or $850 for a bundle of 10. Tickets will be $125 per person at

The 2002 LVIHRS marks the second event produced under a partnership between the Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association (NHLA), Nevada Restaurant Association (NRA), the owners of the 87-year old New York City-based International Hotel/Motel and Restaurant Show (IH/MRS), the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), the Hotel Association of New York City (HANYC) and the New York State Hospitality & Tourism Association (NYSHTA).
