for Western U.S. Casinos -- Black Hawk Casino by Hyatt, Santa Ana Star, Palace Station, Four Winds Casino |
Castle Rock, Colo. October 18, 2001 -
When it comes to planning the artwork that creates memorable ambience for
gamers, four casinos in the West and Midwest decided not to gamble instead,
they all invested in custom-designed art programs created by Parker Blake,
a Colorado-based art consulting firm.
Parker Blake recently provided art consulting for two redesigned areas of The Palace Station Casino in Las Vegas. The companys designers have three other projects in progress: the Black Hawk Casino by Hyatt, opening this November; the renovation and expansion of the Santa Ana Star Casino on the Santa Ana Pueblo near Bernalillo, N.M.; and the new Four Winds Casino in New Buffalo, Mich., on land of the Pokagon Band of the Potawatomi Tribe. With all of their clients, Parker Blake consultants work hand-in-hand with the design team, eliciting a propertys particular personality and complementing that atmosphere with carefully planned artwork and artifacts. The resulting effect can range from unobtrusive to striking, but always provides a cohesive interior character. Parker Blake has considerable experience creating dynamic art programs for mid- to high-range properties, including specialty hotels in or adjacent to some of the worlds best-known theme parks. Parker Blakes current casino art consulting hand includes the following:
In the glorious landscape of southern New Mexico, Parker Blake is providing an art program that will represent the spirit and beauty of the Santa Ana Pueblo and the New Mexico region to accent the newly renovated and expanded Santa Ana Star Casino. The property features an elegant New Mexican theme, highlighting the splendor, attractions and historical culture of the Southwestern United States. The project is developed by Tamaya Enterprises with architect/designer Dekker Perich Sabatini of Albuquerque, N.M. The Four Winds Casino, owned by the Pokagon Band of the Potawatomi Tribe and managed by Lakes Gaming, is expected to open in late 2002. The casino, built in the style of a North Woods lodge, will feature art that reflects the culture of the Pokagon Band as well as their traditional attachment to the woodlands and the Great Lakes region. Four Winds is being developed by Lakes Gaming with Urban Design Group of Dallas. Parker Blake offers architectural firms, interior designers and property
developers an all-inclusive package of art design, procurement and production.
The staff includes a team of creative directors, designers and artists
who work with a nationwide network of specialized artists and suppliers
of art and artifacts. For more than 20 years, Parker Blake has provided
