Benefits for Destination Marketing Organizations
Improve with WorldRes and Newtrade Pact

San Mateo, Calif. October 3, 2001 WorldRes.com, the Internet's hotel reservation and distribution network, announced today that, via an agreement with Newtrade Technologies Inc., it will connect its destination marketing organization (DMO) customers to virtually every chain hotel in the world.

WorldRes.com will offer the ability for consumers to connect to 56,000 hotels in 170 countries, adding 21,000 new properties to the existing 35,000 active and contracted properties.  This agreement with Newtrade makes WorldRes one of the largest online reservation systems.

Under the terms of the agreement, Newtrade will employ its real-time end-to-end automation technology to connect directly with the WorldRes.com platform, giving virtually every hotel central reservation system access to WorldRes.coms proprietary network of distribution channels. This seamless interface, built by Newtrade and compliant to Open Travel Alliance* standards, will enable properties worldwide to offer and to update rates and availability without managing a separate system for the reservations received through WorldRes.com partners.

This agreement with Newtrade allows WorldRes to add seamless CRS connections to its current roster of active connections including Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Choice Hotels International, Carlson Hospitality Worldwide, Hilton Hotel Corporation and to those to be launched by the end of the year, including Best Western International and Cendant Corporation.

"WorldRes has been very successful partnering with destination marketing organizations to provide our online reservation and distribution technology," commented WorldRes VP of Distribution John Banczak. "Newtrade s advanced connectivity feature is one of the final technological pieces to the puzzle, seamlessly adding those hotel chain brands to which we have not yet built connections.

Lynn Mohrfeld, Director of DMOs, added further that, WorldRes is dedicated to the DMO space. Our goal is to deliver the best DMO reservation solution in the online travel industry.  With this agreement, WorldRes will now have the most comprehensive collection of lodging properties available for real-time reservations.

Our technology and know-how will ensure that every online transaction between the consumer and supplier is optimized. Each industry players online presence will be maximized by automatically distributing them through the various e-channels and increasing their visibility on numerous travel-related portal sites, stated Barry Gleason, Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Newtrade Technologies Inc.

*Open Travel Alliance specifications are included in the American Hotel & Lodging Associations Hospitality Industry Technology Integration Standards (HITIS) and were created to develop communications standards to allow for the efficient and effective exchange of travel industry information via the Internet. OTA, which began in May 1999, now has over 150 members, including WorldRes.com, representing influential names in all sectors of the travel industry, including air, car rental, hotel, travel agencies, technology providers and related suppliers.

WorldRes.com, Inc. is an Internet platform connecting accommodation providers (hotels, resorts, B&B's, and more) with online travel distributors, including web sites, call centers and travel agents.

Newtrade Technologies Inc., builds and markets advanced systems that streamline travel, tourism and hospitality commerce.
