Students Research in Tourism

School of Hotel and Tourism Management at The
Hong Kong Polytechnic University is pleased to announce the First Asia
Pacific Forum for Graduate Students Research in Tourism, in collaboration
with the Institute For Tourism Studies (IFT) Macau. This event will
take place in conjunction with the Fifth
Biennial Conference on Tourism Asia: Development, Marketing and Sustainability,
to take place in Hong Kong on May 23-25, 2002.
The aim of the Forum is to provide a "research forum" among post-graduate students and faculty members engaged in post-graduate teaching and research supervision in hospitality and tourism programs in the Asia Pacific region so that they can exchange information on their research and also network among themselves for future collaboration in research and academic exchanges. Who Should Attend?
The Forum will feature several plenary sessions that will include panel presentations focusing on:
Institute For Tourism Studies (IFT) will offer a half-day tour of Macau for Forum participants in the morning of May 23rd, leaving enough time for delegates to attend the Fifth Biennial Conference on Tourism in Hong Kong in the evening of the same day. Registration and Hotel Accommodations Forum Registration fee will be US$95 before January 31, 2002 and US$145 thereafter. Please see the announcement for Fifth Biennial Conference on Tourism in Asia for discount registration fees for those planning to attend both events in Macau and Hong Kong. Information on hotel accommodations in Macau is to be announced. Call for Papers The Forum will focus on a broad range of topics related to research in tourism. The Forum invites papers on either completed research or a preliminary report on �research in progress.� Authors (or at least one co-author in case of co-authored papers) must be a post-graduate student and the paper should base on a research project undertaken as part of authors� post-graduate research projects. Best Papers Best papers will be competitively selected and authors will be acknowledged with a plaque and certificate. Submission Guidelines
Final copies of accepted papers will be professionally published as
an edited conference proceedings PRIOR TO the Forum.
