NEW YORK, N.Y., November 28, 2001 The board of directors of the International
Society of Hospitality Purchasers, Inc. (ISHP), today released its Declaration
of Ethical Purchasing Practices for its members. The declaration
reaffirms the organizations code of ethics and articulates the key principle
that ISHP believes should govern all business relationships between purchasing
agents and their clients.
The statement reads,
Integrity is the cornerstone of our organization, and our ultimate success will be measured by the extent to which we effectively communicate our uncompromising commitment to ethical business practices, said Alan Benjamin, ISHP president. This declaration codifies that commitment. We wish to make it clear, to both our clients and the industry as a whole, that our organization is firmly committed to the highest ethical standards in our business practices. ISHP, a non-profit organization, is composed of independent and corporate
hospitality purchasing executives, who, as a group, spend approximately
$3 billion annually in the hospitality industry. ISHP members common

high standards in ethics, efficiency, etiquette and
