As a "Wise Professor", Mr. Farquharson will have the opportunity to share his wealth of leadership experiences with our undergraduate and graduate students at U.D. as HRIM focuses on "Preparing leaders for the global industry of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management", according to Dr. Frederick J. DeMicco, Professor and ARAMARK Chair of HRIM.  Wise Professor Farquharson founded the International Food Safety Council when he was doing his one-year term as the Chairman of the National Restaurant Association.  Before joining the International Food Safety Council, Farquharson was Chairman of the Global Food & Support Services of ARAMARK.

Established in 2000 in honor of Paul Wise, Professor and founding Chair of the University of Delaware's Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management, the Wise Executive-in-Residence (EIR) fund sponsors an on-campus program - including lectures, workshops, consultation and advisement sessions with HRIM faculty and staff - by a recognized leader in the hospitality industry.  The Wise Executive provides HRIM students with professional education sessions from new perspectives with personal insights and personifies current best practice in hospitality management.  The Paul Wise EIR Endowment Fund provides support for the program.
