   Robin A. Kirk Named SVP - Operations and 
Craig P. Farrell Named SVP Sales and Marketing 
at Baymont Inns
MILWAUKEE - July 12, 200 - Baymont Inns & Suites, the limited-service lodging division of The Marcus Corporation (NYSE: MCS) today announced the addition of two senior executives to its management team. Robin A. Kirk has been named senior vice president - operations and Craig P. Farrell has joined the company as senior vice president-sales and marketing.

Their experience in working with some of the greatest brands in lodging will be an asset to Baymont as we move forward with our strategy to be the `best-in-class' in the mid-price lodging segment," said James R. Abrahamson, president and chief operating officer of Baymont Inns & Suites and Woodfield Suites. "We are very pleased to welcome these two highly regarded industry leaders to the Baymont team."

Kirk will be responsible for the operation of 100 company-owned Baymont properties and seven company-owned Woodfield Suites. In addition to directing the company's field operations, he will also be responsible for inn-level sales, revenue maximization, construction, design and purchasing.
    
Kirk has established a track record for building revenues of large national chains through his 20 years of experience in the lodging industry. Most recently, he served as senior vice president of Meristar Hotels & Resorts, Washington, D.C., with responsibility for hotel and resort operations. He joined Meristar in 1997 as a divisional executive vice president, was promoted to executive vice president-operations in 1999 and was named senior vice president in 2000. His career also includes executive and management positions with Hershey Entertainment & Resort Company, Hershey, Pa., Penta Hotels, New York, N.Y., Hilton Hotels Corporation in New York and New Jersey, and Inchcape Group in Singapore, Malaysia.

He received a B.A. degree from the University of York in England, and is a Certified Hotel Administrator.

Farrell will be responsible for all national sales and marketing activities for Baymont Inns and Woodfield Suites. This includes all 200 open and under-construction company-owned, managed and franchised Baymont Inns and seven Woodfield Suites. His responsibilities include advertising, public relations and the new Guest Ovations(TM) frequent stay program, as well as the company's reservation system and national sales team.

Farrell has extensive experience in building national brands and leading nationwide sales programs. He is the former president and CEO of Choice Hotels in Mississauga, Ontario, with responsibility for 250 hotels in Canada including the Clarion, Quality, Comfort, Sleep, EconoLodge, Rodeway and Mainstay brands. His 23 years of experience in the lodging industry also includes high-level executive sales and marketing positions with Cendant (H.F.S.), Parsippany, N.J., Choice Hotels International, Silver Spring, Md., and Holiday Inns, Inc., Memphis, Tenn.
