Adjusted Gross Proceeds from Gaming in July |
Black Hawk, Colorado - August 21, 2001 - Black
Hawk casinos were hotter than a firecracker in July, shooting to an all-time
monthly record AGP, according to figures released yesterday by the Colorado
Division of Gaming.
Both Cripple Creek and Central City slipped in July, notching AGP figures that were up from Junes but trailed last Julys. Cripple Creek casinos had a July AGP of $13.4 million, down just slightly from last Julys $13.57 million but up a healthy 11.6% from June. Central City, meanwhile, brought in $5.85 million in July; thats up substantially from Junes disastrous $4.5 million but still almost 7.5% below last Julys $6.3 million. In the first month of the new tax year under Colorados progressive taxation system, state tax collections were extremely modestjust over $1.3 million, compared to almost $9.7 million in June. Thats still up 13% from the tax collected in July, 2000; the Black Hawk casinos paid an amazing 90% of that total. |
