Opened in 1910, the hotel was constructed by Ulysses S. Grant Jr. and his wife to honor the memory of Civil War hero and 18th U.S. President, Ulysses S. Grant.  The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is one of the downtown area�s most notable landmarks.
