 Wyndham Appoints Gary Gutierrez, Dave Rossman 
and Ian Harvey to Management Positions

 
DALLAS (May 1, 2001) - Wyndham International, Inc. (NYSE: WYN) recently announced three new appointments in the east coast area including: Gary Gutierrez as area director of operations and general manager for the newly renovated 352-room Wyndham City Center in Washington, D.C.; Dave Rossman as general manager for the 394-room Wyndham Newark Airport in New Jersey; and, Ian Harvey as general manager of the 320-room Wyndham Roanoke Airport in Virginia.

Gary Gutierrez

As area director of operations, Gutierrez oversees Wyndham Hotels in the Washington, D.C. and Virginia areas including: Wyndham City Center; the 400-room Wyndham Washington, D.C.; the 155-room Wyndham Richmond Airport in Va.; and, the 320-room Wyndham Roanoke Airport in Va. 

Prior to relocating to Washington, he was general manager for the 408-room Wyndham Miami Airport. Gutierrez joined Wyndham International in 1990 and has since held various positions including general manager of the 231-room Hotel Galvez - A Wyndham Historic Hotel in Galveston, Texas, resident manager at the 381-room Wyndham Salt Lake City and regional director of rooms for the west coast.  

As general manager of the Wyndham City Center, Gutierrez oversees the operations of the refurbished downtown property.  Renovations included a complete redesign of the hotel lobby, front desk and the addition of a Shula�s Steak House restaurant.  The hotel also offers guests the convenience of proximity to historical monuments and government agencies. 

Dave Rossman

Rossman, the former general manager of the Wyndham City Center is now overseeing the $32 million renovation of the Wyndham Newark Airport, opening fourth quarter 2001.  With over 20 years in the hospitality industry, he will open the Newark office prior to the hotel�s completion. 

Rossman joined Wyndham in 1996 and has since held general manager positions at the former Wyndham Garden Hotel- Annapolis in Maryland and the former Wyndham Bristol in D.C. 

Prior to joining Wyndham, Rossman worked with Marriott International for 13 years in Washington, D.C. and throughout the Midwest in various management positions.  The new Wyndham Newark Airport will be a departure from a typical airport hotel with specific focus on its oval-shaped lobby and offering the Newark Airport market the largest amount of meeting space to date.  In addition to the extensive meeting space, the hotel will offer a concierge floor, lounge, business center, an indoor spa and fitness center, Wyndham ByRequestSM, the company�s frequent guest program and a Shula�s Steak 2, offering guests an exciting dining experience.  

Ian Harvey

Harvey joins the Wyndham Roanoke Airport as general manager from his position as rooms division director at the 300-room Wyndham Sugar Bay Beach Club & Resort in St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands.  While at Wyndham Sugar Bay, Harvey coordinated the complete hotel renovation, and supervised the daily activities of the front office, housekeeping, reservations, security, shuttle service and recreations and entertainment departments.  

Harvey joined Wyndham in 1999 from the Loews L�Enfant Plaza Hotel in Washington, D.C. where he held various positions including rooms division director, director of housekeeping and renovations and director of housekeeping.

The Wyndham Roanoke is surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains offering guests access to any point in the mid-Atlantic region. In addition to an outdoor and indoor pool, guests also enjoy a variety of activities including tennis, nearby golf, hiking and water sports.
