Dubai, May 2001: Emirates Towers Hotel won the award for Best Business
Hotel in the Middle East during the Travel Intelligence Middle East �Achieving
Industry Excellence 2001 Awards� ceremony, held on April 30th on the eve
of the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai.
The second Travel Intelligence awards were presented at a high profile gala dinner that brought together the Middle East Travel Industry. Awards were given to companies that have provided excellent levels of service throughout the year as voted by 8500 business travel agents and corporate buyers � readers of Travel Intelligence.
The 400 � room hotel is, at 305 metres high, the third tallest hotel in the world while the adjacent Office Tower is the tallest building in the Middle East at 350 metres. The 51-storey towers, connected by the Emirates Towers Shopping Boulevard, are a dramatic backdrop to Dubai�s central business district and a highly visible statement of the region�s corporate success. Already during its first year of operation, Emirates Towers Hotel was acclaimed as the �World�s Leading Business Hotel� at the World Travel Awards ceremony in 2000 and scooped the award in that same category again this year. In addition the hotel was recognised as the �Middle East�s Leading Conference Hotel� during the World Travel Awards ceremony which took place in April. Complementing these prestigious awards, Emirates Towers Hotel was also recognised for awards in two categories during the Hotel Intelligence Middle East Awards earlier his year. The property won the awards for �Best Business Hotel� and �Best Hotel Room Design�.
