  First Annual International Resort Conference Created by AH&LA, Lodging Unlimited and the Conference Board

 
Washington, May 4, 2001 - With the desire to create an all-inclusive membership, the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) is cooperating with Lodging Unlimited, Inc., and The Conference Bureau for the first annual International Resort Conference, February 20-23, 2002, at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Fla.  The four-day conference - the first of its kind on this high-end level - is geared exclusively to senior executives of resort, vacation ownership, gaming, golf, tennis, ski, and spa properties.

The event will feature seminars to address the unique concerns of this audience with topics including development, finance, ownership programs and integration, construction, design, and management.  Also, there will be several experts available to discuss the international resort and vacation industries.
 

�This is truly a special event that addresses issues affecting the entire lodging industry,� said 2001 AH&LA Chairman John Russell.  �Our recent name change compels us to embrace a wide-spectrum of lodging properties and this conference is the perfect opportunity to do exactly that.�

In addition, the conference will introduce a �Financial Marketplace� where delegates will have an opportunity to meet with lenders from all resort 

Morris E. Lasky, chief executive officer and founder of the LUI Group, has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 40 years.

He formed Lodging Unlimited in 1970 to provide quality management, consulting and marketing services for the hospitality industry.  

He has been Chairman of The Lodging Conference, an annual event held in the fall at The Arizona Biltmore, since its inception in 1995 and was Chairman of The Lodging Management Academy in 1999.
