Michael Silberstein Named Managing Director of 
the 896-room New York Palace Hotel

New York, June 8, 2001 -- Michael Silberstein has been named Managing Director of the 896-room New York Palace hotel. 

A second-generation career hotel executive, Mr. Silberstein has more than 25 years experience operating and managing four- and five-star hotels.  For the past two years he has been involved in hotel/commercial development both in New York and in Europe. 

Mr. Silberstein was with Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts for 12 years.  He served most recently as Vice President Operations, The Americas, and was responsible for 15 hotels and more than 5000 employees.  Previously, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of The Ritz Carlton of New York overseeing the operation of four boutique hotels located in New York, Washington, D. C., and Chicago. 

He has extensive experience operating and managing New York hotels.  In addition to his association with The Ritz Carlton of New York, he held senior management positions at the Roosevelt Hotel, the New York Hilton and the Sheraton Russell. 

Mr. Silberstein has served as Chairman of the highly acclaimed Times Square Business Improvement District, a member of the Board of Directors of the New York Convention and Visitors Bureau and a member of the Board of Directors of the New York Hotel Association, and Co-Chairman of the Boy Scouts of America.  He also has taught as an Associate Professor at New York University School of Hotel Administration. 

Mr. Silberstein holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel Management from Cornell University.
