Atlantica Hotels International Opens the US $7.4 million
Quality Resort Lins in Brazil

SÃO PAULO, June 14, 2001 Atlantica Hotels International has opened the Quality Resort Lins, the companys 13th operational hotel. Opened on June 1, the upscale resort is the companys 10th property in Brazil.

Located 180 miles west of São Paulo, the US $7.4 million Quality Resort Lins features 114 rooms, lobby bar, pool bar, coffee shop, state-of-the-art meeting facilities that can accommodate up to 1,000 people, full-service business center, outdoor barbecue areas, fitness center with spa facilities, putting greens and an outdoor multi-sport field. The centerpiece of the resort is a luxuriously landscaped 161,000-square-foot free-form pool and aquatic park fed by natural thermal springs cooled from 185 degrees Fahrenheit.  To augment the multi-sport field, four clay tennis courts will be added by year-end.

This is a truly distinctive resort that is already becoming popular with executive groups seeking memorable meeting venues, said Paul J. Sistare, president and CEO of Atlantica Hotels International. Meeting planners have told us that the resorts extensive meeting space, unusual recreational facilities and accessibility from many major markets have already made this a sought-after location.

Just three days after opening, the resort achieved 100 percent occupancy and has already established a position as the premier resort and conference hotel in the interior of the state of São Paulo, said Sistare.

Since its formation in 1998, Atlantica Hotels International has grown to more than US $675 million assets under management representing 65 hotels, primarily in Brazil. The company expects to have a total of 25 hotels open by year-end and is adding an average of two contracts per month. The next hotel, a 204-room Comfort Suites in São Paulo, will open early in July.

Atlantica Hotels International is South Americas only independent hospitality management company to operate multiple internationally recognized brands. The company was recently recognized by The Wall Street Journal as South Americas second-largest hospitality company. Last month, the company changed its name from Choice Atlantica Hotels to Atlantica Hotels International to reflect its emphasis on managing multiple brands across the lodging market spectrum and opened Brazils first Four Points by Sheraton in the city of Curitiba.

Based in São Paulo, Atlantica Hotels International will continue to  develop and operate hotels throughout South America, with emphasis on projects in the countries of Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.
