The Pan Pacific Singapore Adds Innovations and
Broadens Executive Floor Services

10 Apr 2001 - The Pan Pacific Singapore is breaking the mould once again, moving ahead with product and service innovations and cementing its position as the first choice for corporate executives travelling to Singapore.  The hotels newly refined Pacific Floor now offers a multitude of additional services focused on making business stays more productive and enjoyable.

Mr. Yasuhiro Uetani, General Manager and Executive Vice President explained, When looking at improvements we could make to our Pacific Floor operations, we took a step back and tried to envisage everything from the customers viewpoint.  No matter how comfortable our rooms were, we had to admit the reason for executive travel to Singapore is not simply to stay at The Pan Pacific.  Rather, executives were here for business.  Our aim, therefore, became clear.  We will do everything possible to ensure their stay is as comfortable and productive as possible.  Even after the departure of our guests, we will focus on supporting their business development objectives by staying in touch and keeping them updated on market trends in Singapore.

Mr. Yasuhiro Uetani General Manager, The Pan Pacific Singapore & Director - Executive Vice President, Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts Pte. Ltd. Singapore

Stepping into the General Manager position at The Pan Pacific Singapore will be Pan Pacific veteran Mr. Yasuhiro Uetani.

Mr. Uetani led the Pan Pacific Southeast Asian region in the late 1980s and early 1990s and will be warmly welcome back to Singapore. In December 1998, Mr. Uetani relocated from San Francisco as President of Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts, America Inc to provide business leadership for Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts, Japan. During his tenure in Japan, he focused on business development with the Japan Regional Sales Offices and provided operational support to Palau Pacific Resort, The Pan Pacific Wuxi China and The Pan Pacific Hotel Yokohama.

Mercedes-Benz Limousine Transfer for the Price of a Taxi

Exclusively for Pacific Floor guests, The Pan Pacific Singapore will now greet travellers at Changi International Airport. For the same cost of a standard taxi (S$20), Pacific Floor guests can engage the services of the hotels Mercedes-Benz limousine (normally priced at S$65-85).   Additionally, cold towels and a refreshing drink will await the guest in the luxury car, whilst the chauffeur discreetly calls the Guest Services Manager to announce the exact arrival time.  On arrival, the guest is given another personal welcome and is escorted to the exclusive and card-accessed Pacific Floor.

Innovative Services Within The Hotel

Guests on the Pacific Floor, as in all 784 rooms of the hotel, will enjoy high speed Internet access through ADSL technology, which provides speeds of up to 50 times faster than a modem.  Although business support services abound, there is one thing guests will not find - an iron and ironing board in their room!  An oversight perhaps?  Absolutely not!  It is because the hotels guests enjoy unlimited complimentary pressing throughout their stay.   Pacific Floor guests will also enjoy breakfast every morning as well as afternoon tea, cocktails and late night liquor service.

Another Limousine Awaits

The Pan Pacific Singapore is the first and only hotel to offer complimentary Mercedes-Benz S-class limousine shuttle service, every morning from Monday to Friday, between 7:15 and 9:00 a.m.  This service can be reserved in advance by Pacific Floor guests only and is available within the immediate vicinity and to the financial district.

Serving the Guest Months After Check Out

At the Pacific Floor, service is everything. Pacific Floor Manager Miss Nora Sulam, and her team, are building up a reputation as champions for their guests needs. This now extends to times when the guest is back home thousands of kilometres away.  Pacific Floor Associates scan the local business papers daily and forward local market trends and news-breaking information from the publications websites to keep them up-to-date.

Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts currently encompasses 18 hotels (15 managed properties and 3 marketing affiliates) in 12 countries in Asia, the Pacific and North America.
