CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Dec. 8, 2017 – Washington, D.C.-based Westmount Capital Group, LLC and Richmond, Va.-based EKG, LLC have acquired the Clifton Inn in Charlottesville, Virginia, and have retained Scout Hotel & Resort Management as its operator. Woodmont Lodging, LLC provided advisory services to Westmount Capital Group, LLC and will continue to have asset management responsibilities. EKG, LLC, led by the McGeorge Family, was advised by Richmond, Va.-based Canal Capital Management. The boutique inn, which opened its doors to overnight guests in 1983, occupies the historic 1799 estate of Thomas Jefferson’s daughter, Martha, and her husband, Thomas Mann Randolph.

“Clifton Inn’s historic legacy and 100-acre setting combine to give it great potential,” said Charles D’Angelo of Westmount Capital Group, LLC and Managing Director of the newly formed Clifton Inn, LLC. “Scout Hotel & Resort Management has built its business on recognizing the possibilities in its hospitality assets and steering them to stable, long-term growth, and we have absolute confidence that they will do the same for this exceptional inn.”

“We’re excited to work with Westmount Capital Group, LLC to usher in a new era for Clifton Inn,” added Robin Kirk, Scout’s Principal and CEO. “There are so many unique attributes of this hotel that dovetail beautifully with the Charlottesville area’s tourism appeals, from its natural beauty and wealth of historic and cultural attractions, to its growth as a wine tourism destination.”

Set on a vast expanse of landscaped gardens, pristine forests and lakes in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Clifton Inn is just down the road from Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. It is home to 17 individually decorated guest rooms and suites, elegant indoor and outdoor wedding and event facilities, and a fine-dining restaurant, Clifton Inn Restaurant, with indoor and terrace seating, as well as a wine bar for private dining.
