Houston, TX – February 17, 2016– Cavalry Court and The George hotels in College Station, have named Lydia Godfrey as Director of Sales and Marketing. Godfrey will be responsible for the positioning and opening of these two new hotels coming into the College Station market and overseeing the overall strategy and direction of the hotels’ marketing efforts and sales teams.

According to Marcus Latner, General Manager of Cavalry Court and The George hotels, “Lydia brings a wealth of knowledge to Valencia Group of the College Station market. She is a Texas A&M graduate and fully understands the Aggie culture that is so prevalent. Lydia has hit the ground running and we expect to see wonderful results with her on board.”

Before joining Valencia Group, Godfrey served as the Director of Development at the Texas A&M foundation for the Mays Business School from 2013 – 2015. Prior to that, she worked for the Hilton College Station and Conference Center for 18 years in various sales roles including the Director of Sales and Marketing.

These adjacent hotels are both part of the Century Square 60 acre development project located between Texas Avenue and College Avenue. Century Square will offer preferred retail, restaurant, and entertainment options. Cavalry Court is slated to open early fall and The George will open late fall. The two hotels will have 303 rooms and over 10,000 square feet of space. Both hotels will offer luxurious accommodations and a unique outdoor environment.

Godfrey holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Texas A&M University. She is married with twin boys, who are freshmen in college.
