London, UK – The 132-bedroom resort Cameron House has partnered with UpsellGuru to generate greater revenues and higher guest satisfaction. The 5 Star Luxury Hotel, set on the world-renowned banks of Loch Lomond in Scotland, is using UpsellGuru’s innovative upsell system to permit their guests to submit bids on room upgrade prior to their arrivals. Additionally, guests can purchase meals and spa visits in the hotel’s multi award-winning restaurants and spa.

In the first 3 months of partnership, Cameron House is experiencing a high number in stay upgrades, attaining average additional revenues of GBP 6.000 per month (up to GBP 10.000 in requested upgrade revenue). As an added benefit, Standard rooms are freed up to re-sell, further increasing revenue and occupancy.

British chain Village Hotels already implemented UpsellGuru to their 28 properties earlier this year with great results.

“We are overwhelmed by the success of UpsellGuru for our properties," says Rob Paterson, Commercial Director of Village Hotels. The group has seen up to 3000 transactions per month, with revenues beyond GBP 55.000.  

Most recently, the small luxury Scottish properties of the ICMI Collection partnered up with UpsellGuru to offer their guests room upgrades and additional room amenities to enhance guest’s experience in their renowned hotels such as the Cromlix, Greywalls, Rocpool Reserve Hotel, and others.  

The British market has established itself to be the biggest market for UpsellGuru in terms of partner hotels and hotel guests using the upgrade tool, with daily over 1000 users from the U.K. navigating through the system to upgrade in hotels in- and outside of Britain.

Empowering hotel guests

Proactively up-selling is the easiest way to increase a hotel’s ADR and RevPAR as the probability of selling to an existing customer is significantly higher than selling to new customers. The biggest common mistake made by hoteliers is to overlook the guest’s experience in this process. Nowadays hotel guests like to be in control of their entire journey – from the time of researching hotels, comparing prices, to the actual booking process.
