MIAMI, Fla. (July 9, 2019)  South Florida’s iconic Trump® National Doral Miami is pleased to announce the appointment of James Rogers as the new executive chef of the resort. Chef Rogers will oversee the culinary team at Champions Bar & Grill, the resort’s sophisticated, casual concept dining venue, as well as the property’s culinary departments and food and beverage operations.

A seasoned culinary industry veteran, Chef Rogers brings more than 25 years of culinary leadership expertise having worked in numerous kitchens in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to joining the Trump National Doral Miami family, he worked as executive sous chef at JW Marriott Marquis. He has held various positions throughout his career, including executive chef, executive sous chef and sous chef in several South Florida luxury hotels such as Eden Roc Resort and Acqualina Resort and Spa. Internationally, he has worked at the Four Seasons Resort in Costa Rica, Cape Cana Beach Club and Villas, La Romana Country Club and Casa de Campo, all in the Dominican Republic.

Chef Rogers has already given a unique culinary spin to the menu at Champions Bar & Grill with the addition of new health-conscious dishes and gluten-free options. These include but are not limited to the Vegan Beyond Burger, a plant-based patty served on a whole wheat bun with avocado, sprouts, tofu yellow tomato, lettuce, cilantro aioli and petite salad; Seared Tuna Tostones with Avocado Mousse and Kabayaki Glaze Red Dragon Sauce; South Beach Fish Tacos, featuring grilled mahi and corn tortilla, topped with cabbage vigoron, avocado, pickled onion and  chipotle aioli and served with sweet potato fries; and Miso-Glased Grouper with roasted Bok Choy, Japanese mushrooms, Kabayaki sauce and steamed Jasmine rice. Chef Rogers has also added Italian dishes featuring pizzas and pastas, including mushroom ravioli, for a more eclectic menu.

Champions Bar & Grill is open to the public, club members and resort guests from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Valet parking is $5 when dining at the restaurant.
