NEW YORK and MCLEAN, Va. – June 7, 2016 – Embassy Suites by Hilton, a global brand of upscale, all-suite hotels from Hilton Worldwide (NYSE: HLT), announced today the “topping out” of Embassy Suites New York – Midtown Manhattan. The topping out is a milestone in the development process and signifies the project has reached its maximum height and the structural framework is complete. Co-developed by Hidrock Properties and The Buccini/Pollin Group, the 310-suite, 40-story hotel is the only Embassy Suites in New York City.

“This property demonstrates the demand for suite-style hotels in downtown areas and the flexibility that Embassy Suites’ Design Option III concept offers owners wanting to add an All Suites brand to their portfolios,” said Bill Duncan, global head, All Suites and Embassy Suites. “Centrally located and beautifully designed, this property will be the hotel of choice for business and leisure travelers seeking an upscale, All Suites hotel option in New York City.”

The topping out was celebrated on June 6 with a private reception at a neighboring restaurant, with representatives from Hilton Worldwide, Hidrock Properties, The Buccini/Pollin Group, AIG and Bank of the Ozarks. A ceremonial flag was dropped from the building as part of the event, and guests had the opportunity to take a hard hat tour of the new hotel afterwards.

Located at 60 West 37th Street in Midtown Manhattan, the property features Embassy Suites’ latest design concept, Design Option III, which decreases the amount of land needed while increasing efficiencies in the development process. This concept allows for a variety of suite-styles to meet guest and developer needs, including side-by-side, shotgun and one-room suites, as well as a modern, open-air atrium designed for socialization and comfort.

"We are honored to work together with Hilton Worldwide to create a true flagship for the Embassy Suites by Hilton brand in the world's financial and tourism capital,” said David B. Pollin, Co-Founder and Co-President of The Buccini/Pollin Group. “We know that the highly differentiated Embassy Suites by Hilton brand uniquely attracts visitors from every travel segment, resulting in exceptional performance in all parts of the cycle."

This hotel is also part of the growing portfolio of urban hotels from Hilton Worldwide’s All Suites category, which includes Embassy Suites by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton. Demonstrating the adaptability of this category for downtown core areas, the three All Suites brands will open 22 urban properties by the end of 2017.

The hotel’s construction began in September 2014, and it is scheduled to open in early 2017. Designed by Peter Poon Architects, the hotel will feature a lobby bar, a third floor café with adjoining roof deck, a fourth floor amenity space and an adjacent three-level parking garage with access on 36th Street. The hotel's north side façade is inspired by the Garment District, and it will replicate woven fabric utilizing a combination of colored spandrel glass and metal.

“This momentous occasion marks the culmination of years of planning, design and hard work from the hundreds of people involved in this project,” said Jack Hidary, chairman of Hidrock Properties. “We are thrilled with the ongoing progress of this hotel, and look forward to having guests experience Embassy Suites’ unique upscale, All Suites offering in the heart of Manhattan.”

The hotel will also offer all of Embassy Suites’ signature amenities, including free made-to-order breakfast each morning, a complimentary two-hour Evening Reception* with drinks and snacks, and suites with a separate living area, formal sleeping area, and a bar fitted with a microwave and refrigerator.
